Evasive Maneuvers

I’m in love with color!! All types of colors…red, orange, yellow, green, blue…the essential ROY G BIV!  Yes, every single color of the rainbow plants a seed in my heart that, when watered by the right inspiration, blooms a melodious vision, manifesting itself in a colorful conglomerate somewhere in my life.  It could be painting a wall, sewing a blanket, or writing a few lines.  Either way, something colorful is always the result.

Sometimes, my results are pretty awesome, while other times they are dead upon arrival. I do my best to avoid such travesties of wasted glue, thread, and money, but it’s always worth a shot. Most times, I find that my foiled plots to color domination blessed someone else with an idea of which they executed flawlessly. Though at times quite envious because they were able to materialize my vision better than I could, I was still in awe at its beauty. Someone used a thought that didn’t belong to them, and gave it a shape and a name.

What’s the point?  Glad you asked. There is nothing original on this earth. What you have done, what you have thought, someone else has probably thought of before, but failed in its execution. Why is this so important to note? As a wise friend once told me, there are so many great ideas in the graveyard.  So many people have had so many great ideas, thoughts, visions, but somehow allowed their life to enforce evasive maneuvers around them, such that, they died never trying. And I just think that’s completely sad.

We should never let our minds be a graveyard for our greatness nor allow fear, people, and life circumstances block our passion and shine. Rainbows are never seen where there isn’t any light, so let your life be its own colorful commentary and shine bright!
