The Turning Point

It’s now time for me to make a decision. Either I am going to follow this vision I have or I’m going to live the apostasy of it.  Many are faced with this challenge. To be or not to be…to fly or not to fly…the proposed answers to these questions have amassed billions of dollars. People make money by telling others how to overcome fears and be who they are meant to be by buying a book – that just paid for someone else’s dream!  It’s kind of ironic. Something that should come so easy to us is the hardest thing for us to do – being ourselves.
What are we afraid of when we face the person in the mirror?  What are we afraid that people will find out?  Will they be disappointed if they knew?  We hide so many things from others that we don’t realize that we are hiding us from ourselves.  We, in a sense, are our own worst enemy when accomplishing goals or following our passions because we can’t see beyond the perception of ridicule we’ll receive.  And honestly, those who would ridicule you know they don’t have a vision of their own.  So here you are left with your dreams and no possible place to go. No worries. I have a solution just for you!!
It’s called the Turning Point.  Yes, it’s that simple. You get yourself to a place where you have nowhere to go.  Get tired of it – whatever it may be.  Develop it.  Make plans to run from it.  That’s your turning point…the point where…if you don’t turn around now, you won’t be living. You will be existing, a zombie of sorts…dead man/woman walking.  Don’t know what your turning point is? It’s the moment where everything is at its worst.  The moment you realize that if you don’t do something different now…you will die living in your fears, your failures, your heartache, your pain, and a shadow of your former self.
It’s time to turn around and be the fearfully and wonderfully made you!  No need to compare or compete. Shine on your own.  There’s room enough for you and your talents.  The beauty you emanate from being you will transform all those who come around you. Turn from your former ways and turn back to you!
“…I will take away the ashes on their head, and I will give them a crown. I will take away their sadness, and I will give them the oil of happiness. I will take away their sorrow, and I will give them celebration clothes….You will get the joy that continues forever.” Isaiah 61: 3, 7 (ERV)
